Associations

Like many distinct groups, Native Americans have formed associations, federations, brotherhoods and other organizations to advance their business interests, spread information about their areas of special knowledge, and achieve other goals.

Business associations dominate this class of organizations, but it also includes other professional groups who have found it beneficial to work on shared issued common to Native Americans.

Advocacy Organizations

American Indian Movement

Assists the growth of American Indian owned businesses through networking, training, economic development activities and lobbying.

Business Associations

American Indian Movement seeks the spiritual renewal of Native American Peoples and the reversal of the “the ruinous policies of the United States, Canada, and other colonialist governments" through recognition and enforcment of treaty rights and agreements and the and of racism against American Indians. AIM has been especially active in advocating that sports teams end the use of Indian names and especially of racist icons.

The American Indian Business Network

An offshoot of the National Indian Gaming Association, the AIBN assists Inidan owned businesses with tribal RFPs and procurements, training and education.
