Beth's Powwow Threads
I owe Beth Traviss of Beth's Powwow Threads such a debt of gratitude. I had let myself get busy and my attention wandered away from Go Native American, a website and directory into which I have poured many hours of effort but here it was languising when Beth sent me a request that I add her Powwow Regalia business to the directory. Of course I added her to the arts and crafts section but I also let her know how hard it is for me to get good photos for this site - and let's face it, a long bunch of unbroken text on a website is deadly dull. Thanks Beth for sending along this photo of the Mohawk Duck Dance in Kingston, Ontario. Beth made both the blue and white fancy shawl dance style regalia at the focal point of the picture and the black with white and blue regalia. Great work Beth and my best wishes for the success of your business.
Go Native American
an Internet Resources Directory
Resources related to Native Americans, their culture, their history, and their activity in today is widely available on the internet. The resources are not, however, always easy to find. This directory was developed to make it easier to find these resources, and to categorize them in such a way that “like” sites could be found in one place. A sort of “Go To” list to help people interested in a particular topic relating to North American Indians begin to scratch the surface of the treasures available freely on the internet.
The developers of this site are not all knowing or all seeing. If you are aware of resources which should be listed in the site, contact us and let us know. We are also by no means experts. Our casual knowledge is far exceeded by the experts whose sites are listed herein. If you have questions about the aboriginal peoples of North America, their art or culture, their history or the businesses they are engaged in today, you would be far better served by addressing your questions to the very knowledgable people who have created the resources we are privileged to be able to lift up for your consideration.
Go Native, American
In addition to finding these resources, we encourage Native Americans and those descended from immigrants, and all others to “Go Native” in many ways.
Choose Native American businesses as your vendors, learn about these rich cultures, choose Native American art in your decor, listen to the music of the American Indians of the past and present. Go Native, all you Americans, in recognition of the place of honor these ancient traditions hold and should hold in this beautiful continent.
